Mrs. Pike worked at New England Telephone and Telegraph for several years and later for the Private Board Exchange. She also worked as a Telephone Operator at Hinkley, Allen & Snyder for over 6 years, retiring in 1996.
She was a communicant of Mary Mother of Mankind Church in North Providence. Jean was always the life of a party, loved music and dancing, loved The Patriots and she adored babies most of all, they were her true love.
She is survived by a daughter, Kerry Raso of Johnston; a sister, Florence G. Senecal-Whaley of Coventry and several nieces and nephews. She was also the grandmother of the late Robert Scott Devine, Jr. and sister of the late John and Frederick Murphy, Jr.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 9 AM from the HOEY-ARPIN-WILLIAMS-KING Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 4th Street, North Providence. Burial will follow in RI Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours: Tuesday 6-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations to Hasbro Children's Hospital, 593 Eddy St., Providence, RI 02903, in her grandson's memory.
