Interim Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. Entered the service at Nashville, Tennessee and served as Chief Watertender, U.S. Navy. Aboard the U.S.S. Hopkins, on February 14, 1910, he displayed extraordinary heroism in the line of his profession on the occasion of a accident to one of the boilers of that vessel.  (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
