Fred C. Parsons
Final services for Fred C. Parsons, Carpenter's Mate, who was returned from overseas Tuesday, will be held at Vermont Church, Bloomingdale Road, Sunday at 5 p.m. Scott County Legion Post No. 65 will furnish a color guard and will have charge of military services at Holston View Cemetery. The Rev. M. C. Cannup, the Rev. W. S. Robinette and the Rev. James Richards will be in charge of the church service. Parsons in the son of William J. Parsons, Brownwood, Tex. His mother is now Mrs. James Foulk, Bloomingdale Road, Kingsport. Other survivors are two sons, Fred C. Parsons, Jr., and Amrine Parsons, Maces Springs, Va.; a brother, Amrine Parsons, Sr., Kingsport, and a sister, Mrs. J. R. French, Charlotte, N. C. He was killed in action near St. Mere, France, July 27, 1944. Pallbearers at the church service will be his cousins: Arthur, Clarence, William and James Barger, Edgar and Gene Moore. The Young Peoples Class of Kingsley Sunday School will serve as flower bearers. The body was returned to the home of his mother until time for the service.
