Funeral services for Mildred Faye Lee, mother of Tammy Wynette, were held June 27, 1991, at First Baptist Church in Red Bay with burial in Bounds Cemetery in Itawamba County. She died June 24, 1991 at her daughter's home in Nashville.
She was born Sept. 3, 1921, the daughter of Chester and Flora (Allen) Russell of Itawamba County. She married William Hollice Pugh, a farmer and musician. He died in 1943, 10 months after the birth of their daughter, Wynette. In 1946 she married Foy Lee. He died in January 1988.
She also leaves four grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and four great grandchildren.
