Adam was a laborer in a sugar factory, probably the American Sugar Refining Company, in Jersey City.
Oral family says Adam Sterrath is an only child.
In the Court of Common Pleas, Hudson County, New Jersey, May 27, 1893: Adam Steirath [sic] a native of Russia, age 25, arrived in the United States on or about the first day of August 1887 and it is his intention to become a citizen of the United States of America and to renounce forever all allegiance to the Czar of Russia.
