Mrs. Mary Porter, concerning whose serious illness the Herald spoke briefly a few weeks ago, passed peaceful to rest Monday morning, after an illness of several months, aged 75 years. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning and interment was made at Bayside. Her son, Rollin Porter, who was a court reporter in Oregon, left his business and came home to care for his mother during her last illness, and was also assisted by his sister, Mrs. H. L. Matteson, of this village.
