| Birth: | Oct. 27, 1844 Herkimer County, USA | | Death: | Sep. 26, 1938 Orting Pierce County Washington, USA |  Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He enlisted in the Union Army at the age 16 on May 11, 1861 and served as a Sergeant in Company B of the 7th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry. At Gravelly Run, Virginia on March 31, 1865 he with a comrade recaptured a Union officer from a detachment of 9 Confederates, capturing 3 of the detachment and dispersing the remainder.
