Rosary for Ralph I. Armenta Sr., 64, of Lubbock will be at 7:30 p.m. today in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with the Rev. Gene Driscoll, of Christ the King Cathedral, officiating.
Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Christ the King Cathedral with Bishop Placido Rodriguez officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
Armenta died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in Covenant Medical Center.
He was born July 2, 1934, in Saginaw, Mich. He married Gloria Vera on June 15, 1957, in Puerto Rico. He retired in 1974 from the U.S. Air Force, serving in Korea and Vietnam. He worked as a parent liaison for the Lubbock Independent School District at Bean Elementary School. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Cathedral and the Sierra Club. He was a past grand knight and served as district deputy of the Knights of Columbus. He moved to Lubbock from Abilene in 1980.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Peggy Shaw and Cindy Festa, both of Dallas, and Patty Ramey of Lubbock; two sons, Ralph Armenta Jr. of Odessa, and Richard Armenta of Dallas; a sister, Dolores Hubber of Grand Blanc, Mich.; a brother, Frank of Las Vegas, Nev.; and eight grandchildren.
