Mrs. Missouri Belle Grayson, well known and dearly beloved Quitman citizen, died in Watkins Hospital in Quitman, January 5, following an acute heart attack..
She was born in Clarke County and was 66 years of age. Survivors are her husband J. C. Grayson, Sr.; sons, EJ, JC, Jr. and Everett Grayson of Quitman, Sam Grayson of Orange, TX and Harmon Grayson of Mobile, AL; daughters, Mrs. Ruby Gordon of Memphis, Mrs. Lois Stout of Virginia, Mrs. Hazel Whigham of Laurel, and Mrs. Mary Bell Westerfield of Stateline; Brothers, Owen C. and Alf Moore of Quitman; Sister, Mrs. C. W. (Ida) Roberson of Stonewall; and ten grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from First Baptist Church of Quitman, January 6 at 2 O'clock with the Revs. W. L. Meadows, W. C. McClellan, Sollie Smith, Martin McKinstry and J. H. Street officiating.
Interment followed in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Pallbearers were J. S. Dabbs, Hal Dabbs, G. K. Massengale, L. B. Fairchild, A. L. Ramsey and L. N. Riley.
