John Wilbur Atwater

Death:	Jul. 4, 1910 Fearrington Village Chatham County North Carolina, USA
US Congressman. Confederate veteran. Atwater was in the Confederate army during the Civil War, serving with General Robert E. Lee until the surrender at Appomattox. In 1890, he was a member of North Carolina state senate. He was then elected as a U.S. Representative from North Carolina from 1899 to 1901.
