James J. BURNS, 61 years old, died at 7:15 o'clock Wednesday evening (Sept. 26, 1934) at his home at Brookvale from a complication of ailments. He had been bedfast for 3 months. Mr. Burns was a Frick veteran. He was retired last July on a pension. He had been employed by the H.C. Frick Coke Company for 28 years, being mine foreman for the greater part of the time. His work was at Trotter and Lemont.
Mr. Burns was born in Ireland and came to Trotter when he was 17 years old. His father, Patrick BURNS is dead. Besides his mother, Mrs. CATHERINE BAILEY BURNS of Brookvale he is survived by a brother Dennis of Lemont, and three sisters, Mrs. ANNA BRADLEY of Tarentum, and Margaret and Esther at home.
The funeral will be held from the late residence Saturday at 8:30 o'clock. Solemn requiem high Mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church of which he was a member, at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in old St. Joseph's Cemetery.
