Obit for Harry C. Davis;

Harry C. "Curt" Davis, DuBois, RD, long-time resident of this area, died at 8:15 a.m. today after an extended illness. He was 79.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the N. R. Moore Funeral Home by Rev. H.G. Reese. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday and until services time Saturday.

A native of Lumber City, Mr Davis was born March 22, 1880, son of William and Lydia Moore Davis. He was married in 1900 to Lavina Beach by Rev. C.B.Slagle in the Evangelical parsonage at DuBois.

Mr. Davis was employed for 34 years as a toolmaker by the Vulcan Soot. Co. He had resided in DuBois since 1898 and was a member of the Evangelical Reformed Church.

Mr. Davis was the last of a family of three brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Madge Stahlnecker and a son, Ivan C., both of Dubois; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

My father was the oldest grandson of Curt Davis and often said of him "He was the most gentle man I ever knew". GES

According to the personal statements of their daughter, LIllian Madge Davis Stahlnecker and all available records, there were only three children born to Curt and Levina Davis. All links to parents and children for them are now complete. GES
