Herman R. Roeder Sr., 80, died at 4:3 a.m. Monday, May 6, 1985 at his home. A retired farmer, he was born May 3, 1905 at Bremen to Jacob and Anna Sahlhoff Roeder and was a lifetime area resident.
Mr. Roeder was married September 15, 1926 in St. Joseph County to Chloa A. Strahly, who preceded him in death October 23, 1981. He was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Woodland.
Surviving are five children, Miss Minnie Roeder, Shirley (Mrs. Dale) Replogle, Lawrence (Larry) Roeder, Robert E. Roeder, and Donald Roeder, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Herman Jr., and one brother, Clayton.
Services were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 9th at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Woodland with Pastor Daniel Guard officiating. Burial was at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.
