Catherine Wallace Thomas was born to Robert and Savannah Wallace on July 9, 1918 in Tullahassee, Oklahoma. When Catherine was young she accepted Christ. She attended and graduated from Flipper Davis High School. She was the sixth of nine children, four brothers: Robert, John, Ambrosia and Amos; and four sisters: Loretta, Beaulah, Alberta and Mattie Wallace. Her siblings and parents preceded her in death.

Catherine was united in marriage to Garfield Thomas in 1945. She had six children, Bessie and Lyndsay who died at infancy. Jessie Samuels and Orentha Liggins, who recently preceded her in death.

She worked at Varrick Timothy Day Care Center for years, where she loved helping and caring for the children. She was one of the founding members of Wilkes Chapel A.M.E. when Rev. W.E. Stokes was the pastor. She continued to be a faithful member in the 1980's when her church changed to Wilkes James A. M. E., because she loved serving the Lord and her Church.

She was the last of the Wallace Klan who lived to be 91 years old and in her lifetime was able to see the first black President of the United States which was a blessing.

Her daughter Arnetta McClellan cared for her until she needed professional care which Green Country Care Center provided. The staff and workers gave her excellent care and love.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children Arnetta McClellan (Douglas) and Samuel Edwards (Gloria); nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildrenn, four great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
