Sybil M. Keas, 81, passed away November 10, 2011 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born on July 2, 1930 to Melvin Jack and Ruby McLerran in the community of Carter, Oklahoma, where she lived and attended school until she was 9 years of age. Later, the family moved to a farm near Dell City and Burns Flat, Oklahoma, where she finished her schooling and graduated with honors in music at Dell City School in 1947. Sybil left the area and moved to the YWCA in downtown OKC and attended the Drawnes Business School and worked part-time at the Katz Drug Soda Counter and the Civic Center Café. She was very easy to recognize with beautiful red hair.

Sybil and Jack Keas were married March 5, 1949 and remained together for more than 62 years. They had two sons from this marriage, Ronald Jack Keas, born December 19, 1949 and Donald Glen Keas, born December 5, 1951. Ronald Jack died in February of 1975. Donald married Patty Judkins and had two sons, Zachery Don and Aaron Jack Keas. Zachery being married to Mary and Aaron being married to Emily, they all gave Sybil three great-granddaughters, Lizzie, Candiance and Carrington, and a great-grandson to be born in February of 2012. Sybil was part of 12 children in her family and she is survived by one brother, Jack McLerran and a sister, Clydene Wood; one brother-in-law, Troy Wood; Elfredia McLerran, Cloe McLerran and Mary Jo McLerran. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Jack; her mother and father; and nine brothers and sisters.

Family wishes to express their deepest appreciation for the unending care and love given by Oklahoma County Hospice house.

Family request in leu of flowers please donate to Integris Hospice House. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM, Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
