Wayne Arden Cartwright, aged 94 of Chico, passed away peacefully May 17th surrounded by his family. He was born to Jesse & Eunice Cartwright in Chico, and raised in Dayton, California attending Durham schools. He served in the U.S. Army under the 27th Infantry Wolfhounds during the Korean War. Wayne retired in 1990 with 35 years of service at Pacific Telephone and was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and working in his garden. Wayne is survived by his wife of 68 years, Faye Cartwright and daughter Cathy (Darryl) Smith of Chico, and son Kevin (Casey Dolan) Cartwright of Puyallup, WA and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be buried at the Pioneer Cemetery in Dayton, Ca. No services will be held at this time. Published by Chico Enterprise-Record on Jun. 18, 2023.
