Elijah Hindman, was born on 4 November 1798 in Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania, the son of Samuel Hindman and Lettice McClenachan. He died on 26-Dec-1863 in Rushville Twp., Schuyler Co., IL., and was buried in the Rushville City Cemetery, Rushville, IL. Elijah and Anna Mace were married in Elizabeth Twp., Allegheny Co., PA., on 29-Dec-1825. In 1833, Elijah and his young family journeyed to Ohio, then removed to Schuyler Co., IL., in 1838.

"Death Notice for Elijah HINDMAN " - Died at his residence 5 miles North of this place, on the 26th inst., of dropsy, Mr. Elijah Hindman in his 66th year of his age. Mr. Hindman was born in Pennsylvania and emigrated to this county from Ohio in 1838, residing ever since he came on his present place. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church (O.S.) and died triumphantly rejoicing in the hope of his eternal inheritance.
