Christopher "Kit" Hoag passed away after many years of ill health. He was the son of Dwelle Hoag and Mary Macklin from upstate New York, where Kit was born in Schenectady. When Kit was only two, the family including older brother Jonathan, moved overseas. First to Okinawa, then Munich, next to Honolulu (where sister Caroline joined the family) and finally Dixon, California in 1967. Dwelle Hoag worked for USIA, Voice of America, as an engineer.
Kit married Beryl Hibbard of Pinole, California. They met attending Simpson College in San Francisco. They had two sons, Benjamin and Joshua. Kit was ordained as a pastor for the Christian Missionary Alliance, and was the pastor of its church in Sonoma. He received his Masters of Divinity from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. He also worked for a time at Chevron as a lab technician.
He is remembered for his love of jokes and puns. Despite his ill health he stayed optimistic about his future. He passed away at age 60. His ashes are buried with his parents in Silveyville Cemetery in Dixon, California.
(Writer is Kit's sister.)
