Deseret News, The (Salt Lake City, UT) - June 19, 2002. BEAVER - George Thomas Anderson passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, of a heart attack and pulmonary embolism on Mon., June 17, 2002.

He was born in Beaver, Utah Oct. 6, 1930 to Aubrey (Blackie) and Elizabeth Mabee Anderson. They moved to Anaheim, California, where he enjoyed a care free and enjoyable youth, scavenging, collecting and trading guns, hunting and fishing (life-long occupations).

At 17 he enlisted in the Navy serving for two years on the eastern and western seaboards. Several years later he met his future life mate, Betty Jane Ferguson, through his cousins, and they married March 25, 1955, making their home in Bountiful, Utah. Thereafter came four daughters, Sharon K. Spratley (Richard), Bountiful, Utah; Sandra Lawrence (Kenny) Vancouver, Washington; Virginia Kemp (Mark) Yellowstone, Wyoming; and Debbie Wind (Ron) Bountiful, Utah.

He was a devoted husband father and grandfather and derived a lot of pleasure from his family making their lives rich and full with boating, camping, and just generally having a great time.

Much to his delight, he was also blessed with three grandchildren who he really loved and enjoyed: Melinda Spratley, Gregory Thomas Spratley and Joel Mariner.

After 35 years of driving truck for Clark Tank Lines and Consolidated Freightways, he retired to Beaver, Utah, where he pursued his many hobbies, honing his craftsman skills and his junk-collector techniques.

Survived by his mother; wife; brother, Ramon Anderson; and sister, Carol Anderson; children and grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Thursday, June 20, 2002, at Beaver LDS 5th Ward at 1380 East Second North at Noon. Respects may be paid an hour prior to services at the Church.
