Crimean War Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Corporal in the 49th Royal Berkshire Regiment, British Army. At Sebastopol, Crimea October 30, 1854, Corporal Owens gave assistance to an officer of his regiment during a confutation with attacking Russians.
