James Owens
Birth: 1827
Death: Aug. 20, 1901

Crimean War Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Corporal in the 49th Royal Berkshire Regiment, British Army. At Sebastopol, Crimea October 30, 1854, Corporal Owens gave assistance to an officer of his regiment during a confutation with attacking Russians. For distinguished service, he was promoted Sergeant and awarded the Victoria Cross Medal. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
