Notes from Jack George Brannan
The family name Goffene is still prominent in and around Arlon, Belgium as Goffinet, the "t" added to satisfy the French language. The village name is incorrectly spelled on the grave marker. The village is Guelff, and that is the spelling that would be necessary if anyone ever wanted to find the village on a map.
