GEORGE SHIELD, farmer and stock-dealer, Sec. 21; was born in Licking Co., Ohio, Aug. 28, 1845; came to Muscatine Co. with his parents in 1855.
Married Miss Rhoda Smalley, of this county, in September, 1875; they have one child--Robert.
Mr. Shield is a Democrat. Owns 188 acres of land; he is extensively engaged in stock-dealing, which business he devotes the most of his time to, and has been among the most successful dealers in the county.
