MANY AT FUNERAL OF BURTON L. SCHAMBRON
A tribute to the high esteem in which he was held by his wide circle of friends, was seen in the large gathering that attended the funeral services for Burton L. Schambron, at the Holman & Pace funeral chapel Saturday afternoon. The casket and grave were embedded in a profusion of flowers. The services were held by the Rev. Mr. Yarnes, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The Maple Lane Grange, of which the late Mr. Schambron was a member, had special graveside services at Mountain View. The pall-bearers were A. B. Taylor, Edward Walters, Silas Mosler, William Swartz, Felix Lynch and M. Gross.
Burton L. Schambron, who died at the family home October 13, was born February 29, 1876 in Lincolnsville, Kansas, and lived there until he moved to Iowa at the age of 12. When a young man he taught school in the East. On March 23,1898, he was married to Minnie L. Masters at Estherville, Iowa. The family moved to Whitman County Washington, where Mr. Schambron engaged in farming a large wheat ranch for seven years.
In 1919 Mr. Schambron and family moved to Clackamas County where they have since resided, living in or near Oregon City. He farmed a while, worked for the Crown-Willamette Paper Company, and more recently had been dealing in livestock at his place in Clairmont. He had been in poor health for the last two years.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Minnie Schambron, and the children, Fred and Elmer Schambron; Mrs. Bertha Schultz, Mrs. Mable Leek, Susie and Martha Schambron, all of Oregon City. He also leaves the following sisters and brothers; Mrs. Susan Rodgers of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Dora Cowan of Colorado, Mrs. Mary Barnes of Ohio, Fred of Kansas, August and Albert, of Canada, and Charley of Washington, and three grandchidren, Herman Schultz, Marie and Lillian Schambron.
