Mr. Hubert Collins Christian age 92 passed away Tuesday morning November 8, 2011 at his residence 115 Shirley Road Americus. A graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday November 11, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jimmy Griffin officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the family residence 115 Shirley Road Americus.

Mr. Christian was born November 6, 1919 in Pavo, Ga. the son of the late Collin Golden Christian and Carrie Belle Patterson Christian. After Graduating from High School in Jerod, Ga. he moved to Sumter County, Georgia where he has spent all of his adult life, during WWII he served in the US Navy as a fireman first class aboard the personnel carrier USS Feland, after the war he worked with Walters Insurance Agency in Americus eventually forming his own family Insurance Agency [Hubert Christian Agency] which he operated with his sons for some twenty five years. He retired from the Insurance Business in 1979. He was a past member of the VFW serving in various capacities in that organization as well as a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, Elk's Lodge and Lion's Club where he also served in various capacities. He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Christian is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years Doris Phillips Christian of Americus, two sons Hugh Larry Christian and Cary Collins Christian, Sr. both of Americus, two Grandchildren, Cary Collins Christian, Jr. and wife Linda of Americus and Cynthia Lynn Boatright and Husband Scott of Panama City Beach, FL. Four Great Grandchildren Cary Ryals Christian and Collins Hoke Christian both of Americus, Carolina Rebecca Boatright and Brett Scott Boatright both of Panama City Beach, FL.
