Nashville Mayor, Author. He served as Mayor of Nashville, Tennessee from 1825 to 1826. A journalist, he was editor of several newspapers including "The Orthopolitan." He was a Grand Master of the Masons. He was the author of the "Freemason's Manual," "Sketches of the History of Literature" and "Sketches of the History of Roman Literature."
