Barney, as most people knew him, grew up and received his education at Ava, MO. In 1947, he moved from Springfield, MO to Cassville, where he was a mechanic for JC Kenny Motors and then owned and operated Cassville Distributing. For thirty years he belonged to the Cassville Volunteer Fire Department and was Fire Chief several years. He was of the Baptist Faith. Some of his favorite pastimes were quail and turkey hunting, fishing and gardening.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Byrdine; his parents; three brothers, Everett, Emmett and Darrell Anderson; five sisters, Norma Reed, Gladys Tabor, Lois Davis, Rosetta Calvin and Eunice Scribner and two grandsons, Brian Anderson and Jim Harrell.
Surviving are one son, three daughters, one sister, ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 10, 2011, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Reverend John Henry conducted the services. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Butterfield, Barry County, MO
