It is not known for sure where Henry Coleman Hocker is buried but it is thought that he is buried in Hector Family Cemetery with his wife (died 1890) and two daughters (one died 1864). Henry died in 1865 in Guadalupe County which is adjacent to Hays County and very near the cemetery. Mary, his wife was in Caldwell County which is also adjacent to Hays County in 1870, in Hays County in 1880 and is buried in Hector Family Cemetery. Daughter Sarah Jane married Astyanax Hector and was the first recorded burial in the cemetery, just a year prior to Henry Coleman's death. Sarah Jane died while her husband was fighting in the Civil War and after he returned home, he later married Sarah's sister Susan Nancy Hocker.

The Hector Family Cemetery, San Marcos, Texas was established November 28, 1864 and is a burial site located on the original Astyanax "Stine" Troy Hector Ranch (1823-1905, which in later years was known as the Johnson Farm. To reach the cemetery from San Marcos, Texas begin at intersection of IH-35 on SH 123 go south 4.1 miles toward Seguin on Hwy 123. The cemetery is located behind the barn. Jim Smith owns the land on which the cemetery is located.

The Hocker Family dates back to the crusades (1050 to 1238) and came to America in 1647 with John Hocker arriving in Northumberland County, Virginia and then migrated to Maryland. Eventually some of his descendants went west to Ohio County, Kentucky where Henry Coleman Hocker was born in 1807, the son of Richard Weaver Hocker and Sarah Coleman On February 19, 1829 he married Mary Mitchell, the daughter of Obediah Mitchell and Rhonda Sutton. They migrated to White County, Illinois, then to Macon County, Missouri, and finally entered Texas, appearing on the 1845 census in Red River County, and then moved to Caldwell County, and in 1853 were in Guadalupe County. Henry and Mary Hocker had nine children.
