He attended school in Tulare, Ca. and graduated from Tulare Union in 1937. He then attended Bradley University where he played basketball.
He was a master of many trades which included being a watchmaker, a jeweler and a stockbroker.
He was a long time member of Rotary and a member of the Corcoran School Board.
Verdo, however, was a cowboy at heart and loved his ranching, horse breeding and horse training at the infamous 'Post Hole Ranch', in Corcoran. He was President of the Corcoran Rodeo Association and hosted the Corcoran Rodeo for six years.
Verdo was preceded in death by his wife Grace Ann; his son Bob; and his first grandchild Scott.
Verdo will forever be loved and missed by us all.
He is survived by his sons Verdo Jr. and his wife Jeanette of Fresno, John and his wife Diane of Hanford, and Jim his wife Sandy of Reedley; 13 grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren.
There will be a celebration of his life at the Kate Boswell Center in Corcoran, Ca. on Saturday, November 26, 2011, at 1:00 p.m.
The family asks that any remembrances be made to the ALS society or Children's Hospital of Central Ca.
