Steven R. "Maypo" Markle, 49, of Hampstead, died unexpectedly Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, in Charlotte, N.C.
Born Dec. 9, 1961, in Hanover, Pa., he was the son of the late Frederick N. Markle Sr. and Jennie Stickles Markle, of Hampstead. He was the husband of Treasa M. Virtz Markle.
He worked at AAI Corporation-Textron for 32 years. He was a member of St. John United Methodist Church in Hampstead, of the Hampstead volunteer fire company, and of the Electric Bassmasters.
Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are daughters Jennifer A. and Melissa A. Markle, both of Hampstead; brothers Frederick Nevin Markle Jr. and wife Cathy, of Manchester, Edward M. Markle, of Hampstead, and Jody P. Markle and wife Lisa, of Columbia, Tenn.; sisters Linda S. Raver and husband Herb, of Hampstead, and Sherri E. Snyder and husband Darrell of Manchester; and numerous nieces and nephews
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Rudolph officiating. Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery.
