He was born in Haywood County to the late Thurman and Faye Moody. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his ten siblings. He is a WWII veteran having served in the U.S. Navy and was also a member of the VFW.
He was a well known bluegrass and gospel musician who loved picking his guitar. He was of the Baptist Faith with a great love for the Lord.
He is survived by a special friend and companion, two sons, one daughter, six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park. The VFW and American Legion will provide honors for the veteran.
