Jay R. King, 67, of 269 N. Wright St., Farwell died Sunday, April 13 at the Central Michigan Community Hospital, Mt. Pleasant.

Jay was born Aug. 5, 1912 the son of John and Anna Gray King in Lake George. On February 27, 1947 he was united in marriage to Eula Birdsall Gillum.

He served in the armed forces for four years in the Ryutus Islands and Okinawa. Jay was a member of the Sparta Esterline V.F.W. Post 3039 of Farwell and a retired Colt Industries employee in 1969.

Surviving are his wife, Eua, 2 sons Earl Gillum of Farwell and Douglass Gillum of Beaumont, Texas; six grandchildren; four brothers, and 1 sister; Lionel King of Harrison, John Owen King of Farwell, Mrs. Mabel Anderson of Lake George and Alfred King of Utica, and James King of Lake George and 17 nieces and nephews. His parents and one sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 17 from the Coker Funeral Home, Inc. 1 p.m. with Rev. Mark Ralph officiating with burial in the Cherry Grove Cemetery. Clare Sentinel dated 4-16/1980 (Thank you, gladwin gal, for typing this obituary!)
