Bessie Ann Bennett Mounts was born in Edwardsville, IL to W.H. and Jane Howeth Bennett. She married T.E. Mounts at her parents home in Crawford county, MO on January 17, 1883, and in 1901 became a pastor's wife when her husband was ordained in Blue Lick, MO. She lost three children in infancy and two young daughters (Rosie Jane and Flossie Florence Mounts) to a house fire on April 22, 1889. She passed away May 1, 1931 after a battle with Pernicious Anemia. Her husband passed away 24-hours later from a stroke. She was survived by 7 children.
