Mrs. Silas Bailey, aged 68, passed away at her home early Wednesday, August 29th. She had been in failing health for several years and for the past week has been critically ill. She was born in Shullsburg, Wisconsin and lived there until 1903 when she was married and moved to a farm near Platteville. For the past six years she and her husband have made their home in the city of Platteville.
The body was taken to the Concklin Chapel, where it will rest until Friday morning when funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 9:00 A.M. The Rev. Father Gray will officiate. Burial will take place in Calvary cemetery.
Surviving are her husband, one son, Silas, Jr., two daughters, Mrs. Paul Burrows and Mrs. Lawrence Roddick, one brother John Belonger, Darlington, three sisters, Mrs. John Braley, Madison, Wis., Mrs. John Coulthard, Darlington, Mrs. Patrick O'Rourke, Platteville, and nine grandchildren, also a large number of other relatives.
