She was born Clarasel Phillips to my great grandparents; James Matthew Phillips and Mary Elizabeth McDermott in Ingram, Ohio. My grandmother Anna M. Lanigan was her sister. Other children born were John, Mary (Mame), and Henry Matthew Phillips. Clara has one child buried in Cuba Cemetery of Monroe County Iowa, who died as a child; Evelina. (1906-1907) Other children of Clara and James Edward Clark were; Elizabeth (Lizzie) 1901, Harry Edward 1904, and Lenora Juanita 1914.
*First marriage was to Robert "Gandy" Harlan.
