Jack Houser lived most of his life in South Knoxville just off Tipton Station Road in Knox County, TN. In his younger years he worked at a nearby saw mill and earned $1 a day. As an adult, he was a well driller by trade. In 1979, he and Blanche moved to FL to live with their daughter until their deaths.
