Orville Henry Bjordahl was born 15 Feb 1908 on the old Rask farm north of Hendrum in Hendrum Township. He was the third of six children born to his parents, Hans Hansson Bjordahl (27 Dec 1874-8 Aug 1937) and Bertina Orvedahl Bjordahl (22 Oct 1877-17 Apr 1961). Hans H. Hansson was born at Sogn, Norway and Bertina was born at Spillville, Winneshiek Co., Iowa. Hans farmed east of Perley and was the local rural mailman out of Perley. In 1909, Hans and Bertina moved to Hendrum.

Orville's sisters and brother were: Anna Berthina 2 May 1897-29 May 1919 (Bernt A. Ness 24 Oct 1895-25 Mar 1948), Bernice Olive 6 Aug 1905-8 May 1984 (Oliver Nygaard 28 May 1904-21 Feb 1991), Helen Nora Gladys 23 Oct 1909-21 Jul 2004 (Wyman Custer 28 Oct 1911-20 Oct 1995), Hans Bernhard 19 Mar 1913-26 Dec 1971 (Genevieve Ovidia Pihlstrom 31 Jul 1917-3 Jan 1993) and Eleanor Gertrude 25 Oct 1917-5 Jun 1990 (Kenneth Lawrence Emerson 9 Mar 1915-7 Mar 1999).

Orville attended "Wide Awake" rural school and Hendrum High School. The Hans Bjordahl family first attended St. Pauli Lutheran Church, east of Hendrum, but later joined Immanuel Lutheran Church at Hendrum.

Orville farmed in Mary Township 8 miles west of Borup or 6 miles east of Perley. He was a member of the School Board of District #15, the Perley Creamery Board, and the Farmers' Union Oil Company Board.

He married Stella Kristine Juve 1 Oct 1927 at Hendrum, MN.

Orville and Stella became the parents of four daughters. They are: Bettye Joyce 1 May 1928-8 May 2020 (Chester Richard Bakkum 3 Nov 1921-20 Sep 1989, divorced 15 Jul 1971, Robert K. Harmel 12 Dec 1929–29 Mar 2019), Olive Shirley "Olli" 7 May 1932–19 Sep 2021 (Glenn Armin Bowhall 18 Dec 1926-12 Jan 2020), Marilyn Ruth 4 Jul 1941–Living (Harold Sigmund Vorvick 9 Aug 1941-Living) and Ordell Helen 23 Oct 1952–Living (David Eugene Erdahl 26 May 1953-22 Jan 2014).

Orville was injured slightly in a tractor accident while he was dragging a field. He passed away 7 May 1952 at his home in Mary Township of a coronary occlusion. Funeral services were held May 12, 1952 at the Bethania Lutheran Church rural Perley. Pastor Carl K. Randoy officiated at the service. Burial was in the Bethania Cemetery.
