Professional Boxer. He was a popular welterweight boxer from Brooklyn who started boxing professionally in 1937 and during his career he knocked out Champions Bob Montgomery and Tony Canzoneri. On the night of November 21, 1945 he was shot and killed when he tried to stop a holdup in a Brooklyn tavern.
