Goldie Grace Sparks

Goldie Grace Constable Sparks, age 87, of Erwin, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at the home of her daughter in Watauga, TN. Goldie was a daughter of the late Fred and Bessie Blevins Constable. She was a member of Fishery Community Church.

Although her family and friends are heartbroken, they are filled with great memories, and the assurance that they were loved by this truly unique person. Goldie dedicated her life to caring for others, both as a homemaker, and as the long time caregiver of her brothers and sisters and others as long as her health allowed. She loved reading her Bible and working crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, Goldie is preceded in death by:

Husband, Charles "Boots" Sparks;

Daughter, Judy Sparks Edney;

Brothers, Raymond and Bill Constable

Sister, Ruth Constable.

Survivors include:

Sons, Larry and Delores Sparks of Erwin;

Freddie Sparks of Erwin;

Billy Joe Sparks of Gray;

Daughters:

Patsy Allen of Erwin;

Sharon Kane Whitehead and husband Allen of Watauga;

Grandsons: Gary Sparks, Kenneth Tittle, Chad Sparks, Douglas Kane, Jason Kane, Scott Kane, and Dustin Sparks;

Granddaughters: Angela Jones, Teresa Allen, Deidra Gentry, Rachael Hendricks, Crystal Edney, Cindy Blevins, and Misty Sparks;

Brother: Charles "Jim" Constable

Sisters: Judy Weems, Shirley Hollifield, Lena Whitson, and Juanita Constable;

26 Great Grandchildren, 9 Great Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 8 PM in the chapel of Valley Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Rice officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 PM until service time at Valley Funeral Home. The Graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 11AM. Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at Valley Funeral Home by 10:30AM on Wednesday to go in procession to the Cemetery. Pall Bearers will be Grandsons and Great Grandsons.
