A resident of the Rosholt neighborhood for 45 years and who until recently owned and operated a farm there, died at 5 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the home of one of his daughters, Mrs. Michael Stanislawski, in the village, age 71 years. He had been in poor health for the past one and one half years, suffering with dropsy and complications.
Mr. Witkowski was a native of Poland but came to the country when a boy and had been a resident of Portage county practiacally all the time since.
He is survived by his widow and the following sons and daughters: John, city; Mrs. Stanislawski, Adam Witkowski and Mrs. Anton Kudla, Rosholt; Mrs. Joseph Malek, Manitowoc. There are two sisters in Detroit and one sister at Coldwater, Mich. Mrs. Tony Novicki, one of the sisters from Detroit and her daughter visited the brother and uncle last week.
Funeral services will be held at St. Adalbert's church, town of Alban. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
