Mrs. Anna Lanigan 77 of Davenport and a former Ottumwan died at Mercy Hospital at Davenport Monday at 10:20 p.m.
She was the daughter of Matthew and Elizabeth Phillips and was born in Mineral City, Ohio on September 22, 1886. She had spent most of her life in Ottumwa until moving to Davenport 13 years ago. She was a member of St. Mary's parish at Ottumwa and St. Anthony's parish of Davenport. Her marriage to James A. Lanigan took place in 1912 at Ottumwa. He died in 1952.
Survivors include two sons, James Lanigan of Davenport and Timothy Lanigan of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Clara Harlan of Ottumwa and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was one son and one daughter Mary Elizabeth.
The service will be Thursday at Vaughn Funeral Home and at 9:00 at St. Mary's with Father Cullinan officiating the Requiem High Mass. Buril will be at Calvary Cemetery at Ottumwa.
Pallbearers will be Harry Clark SR, Harry Clark JR, Mike Clark, Jerry Clark, Jim Hartley and Nick Fiscella. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home this evening at 8 o'clock.
P.S. Marriage records give my grandma's birth date as Sept. 23 and tombstone picture shows her being born in 1888.
