Llewellyn Alberic Emilius Price-Davies
Birth: Nov. 29, 1878
Death: Dec. 26, 1965

Boer War Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Lieutenant in the King's Royal Rifle Corps, British Army. At Blood River Poort, Africa, September 17, 1901, when four hundred Boers overwhelmed the right of the British column calling upon them to surrender. Lieutenant Price-Davies, hearing an order to fire upon the charging Boers, at once drew his revolver and dashed in among them, firing at them in a desperate attempt to rescue the guns. He was immediately shot and knocked off his horse, but was not mortally wounded, seceding in holding off the attackers until re-enforced. For extreme gallantry, he was promoted Captain, awarded the Victoria Cross Medal in November 1901 and later achieved the rank of Major General. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
