Obituary obtained at the Punxsutawney Area Historical and Genealogy Society. Handwritten date 21 Nov 1948:

JAMES HOBBA, 63, of R. D. 3, died in the Adrian Hospital Sunday afternoon following a year`s illness. He was 63 years of age.
Mr. Hobba, a resident of the Punxsutawney area the past 52 years, was born in Osceola Mills Sept. 20, 1885, the son of James E. and Georgina (Phillips) Hobba.
He was united in marriage to Miss Melda Himes Nov. 20, 1907.
The deceased was a member of St. Peter`s Evangelical and Reformed Church and belonged to the local B.A.R.E.
He had been employed as a machinist by the B. & O Railroad Company.
He leaves his wife and five daughters; Mrs. Margaret Thomas of Heilwood; Mrs. Edwina Curry and Mrs. Rachel Smith, of Sharon, and Mrs. Georgina ---dger and Mrs. Hazel Smith, ---- Punxutawney.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, one ---other, William Hobba, of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. George Myers, and Mrs. Fred Bell, of Youngstown, O.
Friends will be received in the Hobba home on Scotland Avenue Extension after 7 o`clock tonight.
The funeral service will be held there Wednesday afternoon at 2 o`clock with burial in the Grube Cemetery. The Rev. Charles O. Leibig will officiate.
