| Birth: | Jun. 1, 1934 | | Death: | Oct. 3, 2003 |  Football star. He was the quarterback for the University of Minnesota who led the Gophers to a No. 12 ranking in the final AP poll in 1956. He was pictured on the cover of the Nov. 4, 1957 Sports Illustrated next to a caption that said "Bobby Cox of Minnesota: Best College Quarterback." He was drafted in the fourth round by the Los Angeles Rams in the 1957 NFL draft but did not make the team's final roster. He played in the Canadian Football League and in 1960 played briefly with the NFL Boston Patriots. Following football he had a very successful career in business. He was a leader in Minneapolis business after founding muti-million dollar travel agency, World Travel, Inc. Three surviving children, Bobby, Sarah, Christopher.
