"Pa" died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at age 86. He was born in Mathiston, Miss., on May 31, 1923. For 42 years he owned and operated Kimbrell's Beauty Salon. He was a World War II veteran and took part in the Battle of the Bulge. "Pa" was kind, generous, and compassionate and had no pretense about him. He lived his religion every day. He loved watching things grow in his garden. He was a much loved family man and friend and sorely missed his wife of 58 years, Louise Mangrum, who died in 2008. "Pa" is survived by three sisters, Lola "Sis" Freuhling, Charlene Whitehead and Jimmie Dell Greene; five children and their spouses, Barita K. Morgan and husband Richard, Cynthia K. Rhea, Michael "Bubba" Kimbrell and wife Dianne, David Kimbrell, and the Rev. Dr. Cary Kimbrell and wife Paula. In addition there are 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., Tuesday, May 25, was from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visiting continues Wednesday, May 26, from 9 a.m. until religious service in the chapel at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Huey Moak, who has always been a good friend to the Kimbrell family, and the Rev. Danny Miller. "Pa" will be buried in Resthaven Gardens of Memory where his grandsons will serve as pallbearers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; granddaughter, Alissa Dawn Kimbrell; great-grandson, Owen Thomas Kimbrell; mother, Mattie Florence Kimbrell; father, Charlie Joe Kimbrell; two sisters, Mary Nell "Pud" Love and Olive A. "Tootie" Ford; and brother, Joe Melvin "Pete" Kimbrell.
