"Lurana Riggle, daughter of James and Elizabeth Riggle, was born in Pennsylvania on March 8, 1833. She moved to Indiana with her parents in childhood.

She was married to William Ballard , Dec 9, 1852. To this union were born six children-three girls and three boys, one of the daughters died in infancy. Lizzie Condra, another daughter, died May 17, 1903.

William Ballard, her husband, was a soldier of the civil war and gave his live for his county in 1863, on the battlefield at Murfreesboro. Mrs Ballard, the widow,was married to John Morris, September 27, 1866. To this union were three children, John, George and Joel. John and Samuel have preceded their mother to the other world.

John Morris died April, 1877. Sister Morris has been a member U. B church for a number of years. She said that she was prepared to meet her God. She leaves four children, Charles Ballard, William Ballard, Walter Ballard, Emma Dillman, and George Morris. These mourn the loss of a faithful and loving mother. But while these mourn, she is enjoying a happy reunion with those that went before her. She has a host of friends and relatives to mourn her departure."

Lurana Riggle was born in Clark Co.,Indiana as were her siblings before and after her--she is the eighth child of James and Elizabeth( Jenkins) Riggle. Her parents lived in Clark Co.,IN at 1820 census time.
She is my grandmother's aunt.
