Cornelius Minor Hadley
Birth: Apr. 27, 1838
Death: Mar. 22, 1902

Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a First Lieutenant in the Union Army. He was awarded the Medal of Honor as a Sergeant in Company F, 9th Michigan Cavalry for action on November 20, 1863 at Knoxville, Tennessee. His citation reads "With one companion, voluntarily carried through the enemy's lines important dispatches from Gen. Grant to Gen. Burnside, then besieged within Knoxville, and brought back replies, his comrade's horse being killed and the man taken prisoner."  (bio by: Don Morfe)
