The daughter of Stephen Bloomer Balch, founder of Georgetown's oldest church, Harriet became the second wife of Maj. Gen Alexander Macomb on May 26, 1826 in Washington, DC.
Her first husband was John Reid Wilson whom she married in Georgetown in 1809; she had no chidlren by either marriage. She was reinterred from Georgetown in 1892. Several other members of the Macomb family were reinterred in Plot 302.
