Death: Nov. 14, 1905

Friedrich Andrist was born in the Canton of Bern, Switzerland to David Andrist Sr. and Elizabeth Zeller-Andrist on June 12, 1828. On October 19, 1860 he married Mrs. Magdelena Mueller (Miller). In the year 1868 he emigrated to America and settled in the state of Ohio where he lived one summer. From there he came to Minnesota, where he has resided until the time of his death.

In 1888 his wife died, leaving him a widower for the last sixteen years. To this union five sons were born: Frederick (Fred), Samuel, Emmanuel (Mac), Godfrey and Jacob (Jake), and he raised a step-son John Miller, all well know in this county.

Frederick died at the home of his son, Sam in Milton township where he has had the best of care during his advancing years. He succumbed to an attack of pneumonia on Tuesday, November 14 at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 2 days.

The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon was largely attended. Rev. J.G. Schmid officiated, speaking in both German and English and the body of the departed was laid to rest in the Berne Cemetery. The floral offerings were many. The choir of the Berne church had charge of the singing. Many thanks to the friends who showed their sympathy by their presence at the solemn rites over the remains of the departed father and during the time of his suffering.

Printed in the Mantorville Express newspaper November 24, 1905. Copied from the cemetery book files at the Dodge County Historical Museum, Mantorville, Minnesota.
