Elton B. Anderson Sr., 78, of Brenham, Texas, died Sept. 29, 1995 in Hermann Hospital, Houston.

Funeral services were held today in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father David Leibham officiating.

Interment was in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Mr. Anderson was born Dec. 26, 1916 in Waller County, Texas, the son of Edward and Amanda (Cheaney) Anderson.

He attended Brenham public schools.

On May 3, 1943 he was married to Agnes "Andy" Karlick in West, Texas, by Father Edward Polcak.

Mr. Anderson was a faithful employee for 53 years, from 1930 to 1982, at Blue Bell Creameries. After retirement he devoted his time to his family, helping his son in business and spent many happy times on his farm and raised Polled Hereford cattle with his son and three grandsons.

He was associated with the Washington County Little League and was president in 1964, when they made it to the Senior Little League World Series in Kentucky.

He was associated with Boy Scouts of America since 1958 and of which his three grandsons are now members.

Mr. Anderson loved fishing with O.H. Finke, Dick Spinn, and Arthur Lehmann and others.

He was a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Brenham. He was a loving and generous husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes "Andy" Anderson of Brenham; son and daughter-in-law, Elton B. Jr. and Karen Anderson of Brenham; grandchildren, Matthew Anderson, William Anderson and Brian Anderson, all of Brenham; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Louis and Lillie Kupcak of Waco; sisters-in-law, Harriet Pecore of Houston, Nora Anderson of Splendora and Adela Odrej of West; special friend of the family, L.G. Herzog of Brenham; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Pallbearer were Gerald Anderson, Glenn Hightower, Herbert Goessler, Arthur Lehmann, Robert Borchgardt, Fred L Winkelmann, William J Haack, Mike Przyborski, and Albin Bolcerek.

Honorary pallbearers were Edward F Kruse, Howard W. Kruse, Dr. W.F. Hasskarl, John W. Barnhill Jr., Willie Kelling, Wilbert Meier, Kervin Finke and Darrell Winkelmann.

The family requests ths who wish may give memorials to St. Mary's Catholic Church or Boy Scouts of America Sam Houston Area Council, David Crockett District.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Brenham Memorial Chapel, 509 S. Baylor.
