Jessie A. Ashba
Mrs. Jessie Armina Ashba, 86, the last surviving great-grandchild of Henry Robinson, first white settler in Carroll County, Indiana, departed this life at 7:40 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 1986, in Witham Memorial Hospital, Lebanon.
Born December 19, 1899, near Delphi, Jessie was a 50-year member of the Carroll County Home Extension Club and Rebekah Lodge of Delphi. She had formerly worked nearly 20 years in the Carroll County License Branch, before moving to Lebanon, where whe was employed at Culligan Water Conditioning for eight years before her retirement in 1966.
On November 20, 1918, Jessie married Paul E. Ashba in Delphi. He preceded her in death as well as a son who died at birth William Henry Ashba. Mrs. Ashba was a member of the United Methodist Church of Lebanon. She is survived by a daughter Nancy Jane Ashba Saulmon.
Services were held Wednesday, July 23, in Lebanon. Interment was in the Masonic Cemetery, Delphi.
